Located on the outskirts of the town of  Bantry in County Cork, Ireland, this beautiful garden and house overlook scenic Bantry Bay. There are 45 acres of gardens arranged on different levels. Wisteria Circle is directly behind the house and leads to the base of the "Stairway to the Sky." At the top of the stairs is a stunning view of the bay with the Cork and Kerry mountains in the distance.

Bantry House is located on N71 west of Bantry, 90 minutes from Cork and 90 minutes from Killarney.

Another beautiful Irish gem of a house and garden. As I understand it, the family still lives in the house which I don't think is currently open to visit. The property is across the street from Bantry Bay and the day we visited in July, 2003, the local rescue squad was practicing with their helicopter. That did not distract us from enjoying the impressive gardens. Although it caused a little huffing and puffing, we did make it to the top of the 100 steps of the "Stairway to the Sky." The view from the top was great!
