Chiswick House and Garden - England - Gardens, Parks, Squares and Open Spaces

This is an example of the combination of a park and a garden. There are grand open spaces and nice groupings of shrubs, trees and flowers for the gardener. Chiswick is called the birthplace of the English Landscape Movement. It is said to have been one of the inspirations for Central Park in New York City. It is now administered by English Heritage.

When we visited in the summer of 2010, this appeared to be more of a park with some horticultural gardens rather than a horticultural garden. Worth a look if you happen to be in the area.
