Culzean Castle - Scotland - Gardens, Parks, Squares and Open Spaces

Between 1777 and 1792, an old fortified tower castle was converted for David Kennedy, the 10th Earl of Cassillis, creating at Culzean (pronounced "Cullane") probably the finest Georgian castle in Scotland. Culzean is set in a Country Park of over 500 acres. This offers something for everyone with its wooded walks, the Swan Pond, a new (1999) Adventure Playground, Walled Gardens, shoreline, Visitor Center, shops and restaurants.

Another one of those beautiful castles with a magnificent sea view. The gardens are not extensive but worth a look-see. There are herbaceous borders, a walled garden, fountain garden and a Swan pond.
