Petworth House is a 17th century mansion set in a beautiful park landscaped by "Capability" Brown. It has been featured in several paintings by Turner which along with works by Van Dyck, Reynolds and Blake are displayed in the house.

A 700 acre landscaped park is home to the largest herd of fallow deer in England. There is a 30 acre woodland garden near the house which features rhododendrons and azaleas and large, specimen trees.

This is a very large, rambling old garden created by Capability Brown. It shows his preference for showing the wide, sweeping undulations of the land with spots of mature tree collections. A very nice garden and historic house for an afternoon's visit if you are in the area.
