AmeriFlora, a $100 million, six-month Quincentennial Exposition took place in Columbus, Ohio, April 3 to October 12, 1992. It was held at an 88-acre site in the The Franklin Park Conservatory.

AmeriFlora in 1992 was one of those "neither fish nor fowl" affairs. It was supposed to be a world class horticultural show. However, as the time for the opening approached, the organizers got cold feet fearing that they might not draw enough people to pay the expenses. So, they expanded out and had non-horticultural exhibits from around the world that really did not fit the mold. I visited it on two occasions and felt that it was "o.k." and nothing special. Sorry.
