I visited in August and figure that, like so many gardens in the Pacific Northwest, this one would be even more beautiful in the spring when the rhododendrons and wildflowers are in bloom. This is a wonderful combination of gardens and forest reserve with plenty of large, very old trees.

I debated on whether to give this a 3 or 4 star rating. I have to admit that economics dropped it to the 3 star for me. IF you are already on Bainbridge Island for other reasons, it deserves a "Should See" four star rating.

However, if you are in the Seattle area, you may need to take the cost factor into consideration. I went by myself and the cost for the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island and back was $34.00 for the car and driver. Then it cost $13.00 for admission. So, the total for me was $47.00 to see this facility. I liked it a lot and was glad I went but you would have to decide for yourself on the cost.
