| Note: August and Friederika Heiden came to Monroe County, Michigan
in 1873. They originated in the tiny village of Gross Wökern in the northern
Germany area of Mecklenburg province. Three of their eight children were born in Germany. They have
well over 400 descendants. My grandfather, William Carl Heiden, was the first of their children to be born in America in 1874. He and his wife, Mary, had 13 children and there are now over 250 descendants of the couple. In December, 1995, I completed work a 450 page book on the Heiden Family Tree. To date, over 115 copies have been distributed to family members and friends. Included on the website are the first three chapters which deal with how the research was completed and the history of August and Rika Heiden and William Carl and Mary Heiden. I did not include the later chapters which deal with subsequent generations, many of whom are still alive. If you would like a copy of the entire document, please E-mail me. Hope you enjoy this and that it is helpful in your family search. Ralph Heiden. |
