This
self-pollinated seedling of
H. 'Purple Verticulated Elf' (and a sibling of H. 'Amethyst
Facet') was registered by
Dr. Ralph
(Herb) and
Dorothy Benedict in 2000. The miniature (4 inches high) plant has pale
lavender flowers in August.
According to
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis
(2009), "Though not well-known, 'Amethyst Chip' rates highly
for blue-green foliage color. By being a selfed seedling of
'Purple Verticulated Elf', it can be considered a seventh
generation Tardiana
seedling."
