Hosta 'Bloody Mary'

The result of a cross of H. longipes x H. pycnophylla, this cultivar was originated by Hajime Sugita in Japan and registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio on his behalf in 1999. It grows into a large size hosta about 22 inches in height with a spread of around 37 inches. The medium green leaves have smooth texture. Deep purple colored flowers bloom on reddish scapes in August.
