Hosta 'Blue Haired Lady'

This seedling of H. 'Sum and Substance' × H. yingeri was registered by Greg Johnson in 2004. It grows to a medium size (17 inches high by 44 inches wide) with blue-green foliage. The leaves are slightly wavy and have bloom beneath. Pale lavender to white, spider-shaped flowers bloom in August.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Best in spring...Early leaves are matt above and glaucous below. The leaves change from blue to dark green during the summer. The flowers are widely spaced down the scape."
