Hosta 'Blue Horizon'

Larry Englerth of Michigan registered this cultivar in 1985. It is an H. 'Tokudama' seedling that has typical blue foliage and cupped leaves with thick substance and is slug resistant. The medium size (17 inches high by 32 inches wide) mound bears near white flowers from late June into July followed by viable seeds.

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Worth the trouble of placing carefully in light to moderate shade to retain the superb leaf color for as long as possible. Avoid positions under trees or in windy sites."
