Hosta 'Dylan's Dilly'

A sport of H. 'Mountain Green', this cultivar was registered by Peter and Jean Ruh of Ohio in 2008 and was originated by Dr. Charles Purtymun at Walden West Nursery in Oregon. It is a gold centered 'Fortunei' type of plant that grows to a medium size with a height of about 15 inches with a spread of around 20 inches. Lavender flowers bloom from July into August but does not produce seeds.

The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009) observed that, "Unfortunately, many of the Dylan's Dilly' specimens I've seen are infected with Hosta Virus X."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "Origin: Sport of H. 'Fortunei'...Variegation is constant and stable. Vigorous, a moderately rapid increaser...Leaves are paler in color than those of H. 'Gold Standard' and the clump is tighter."
