Hosta 'Evening Gown'

This hybrid of H. 'Chirifu Oba' × H. venusta was registered by Greg Johnson of Iowa in 2004. It grows into a small size about 10 inches in height with a spread of around 28 inches. The foliage is medium green with a creamy white marginal variegation. It bears pale lavender flowers in early summer.

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term chirifu as speckled, mottled or overall variegated.
