Hosta 'Foxfire X-Philes'

A sport of H. 'Great Expectations', this cultivar was originated by Steve Schulte of Wisconsin and registered in 2009 by Bill Silvers of Georgia. It forms a medium size (16 inches high by 31 inches wide) plant with blue-green foliage that has a yellow medial (center) variegation which is narrower than that of the mother plant. The leaves are very broadly ovate, heavily corrugated and have thick substance. Near white flowers bloom from mid-June into July.

I assume that this name is a play on the title of the television series, "X Files" with FBI agents, Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
