Hosta 'Francheska'

Registered in 2019 by Ron Livingston of Michigan this cultivar is a hybrid of an unnamed seedling × H.' Harmony'. It is a fast growing, medium size hosta that grows to about 14 inches in height with a width of around 32 inches. The foliage is greyish olive green (NN137A RHS Colour Chart) with a creamy yellow marginal variegation. Its leaves are shiny on top, elliptical and relatively flat with celadon streaks between the center and margins. The creamy margin extends down the entire petiole length. Flowers are medium purple on the outside but white on the inside with purple stripes. They bloom from mid-July into August on scapes13 to 18 inches tall. It sets seeds but their viability was not known at the time of registration.

The registration materials state: "...Nice dense, symmetrical clump of elegant pointy leaves."

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...matures as an attractive mound of white-edged foliage. A streaked version has been dubbed "Francheska Streaked"."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by Diana Grenfell (2009) states: "The pod parent was likely to have been H. 'Marbled Cream'...Vigorous...Increases readily. A most attractive new introduction."
