Hosta 'Fresh'

A fast growing sport of H. 'Amy Aden', this cultivar of unidentified origin was registered in 2010 by Mark Zilis of Illinois. It forms a medium size (11 inches high by 31 inches wide) plant with dense foliage that starts the season chartreuse in the center with a yellow marginal variegation but changes to green in the center with white marginal variegation by later in the summer. The leaves are moderately wavy, ovate and dull on top. Medium lavender, tubular flowers bloom in July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Don't underestimate 'Fresh' as a colorful edger or low ground cover."

This is one of several plants that was once attributed to Paul Aden of New York but has subsequently been classified as having an unidentified originator.
