Bill Brincka and Olga Petryszyn of Indiana co-registered this hybrid of H. nigrescens x H. 'Blue Whirls' in 1994. This semi-upright plant grows into large size hosta about 28 inches in height and 58 inches wide with somewhat wavy, moderately corrugated leaves with thick substance.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...rates highly among large gold-leaved cultivars."
