Hosta 'Golden Goal'

Dr. Doug Beilstein of Ohio originated this open-pollinated seedling of H. 'Glory' and it was registered by Mark Zilis of Illinois in 2006. The plant grows into a medium size hosta about a foot in height by two feet in width with slightly unruly foliage. The leaves are heavily corrugated and moderately wavy. It bears pale purple flowers starting in late June.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Its name stems from the "sudden-death", winning goal scored in overtime of a 'World Cup' soccer game."
