This cultivar is listed as a seedling of H. 'Decorata' × H. sieboldii which was registered by The American Hosta Society on behalf of the originator, Vivian Grapes of Nebraska in 1986. It forms a medium size plant about 17 inches high with a spread of 39 inches.

The leaves are lance-shaped, wavy and have smooth texture with average substance. Semi-bell-shaped flowers that are deep purple in color bloom from mid-August into September.
