Hosta 'Lavender Stocking'

This hybrid of H. kiyosumiensis x H. pycnophylla was originated by Hajime Sugita of Japan and was registered by Peter Ruh of Ohio in 1998. The large size mound grows to about 20 inches in height with a spread of about 45 inches. Its blue-green leaves turn to dark green by the end of the season. They are slightly rippled, have smooth texture and purple-red petioles. Lavender flowers are borne in August.
