Hosta 'Lighthouse'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. One is registered and, therefore, the "official" version of H. 'Lighthouse' while the other is a non-registered plant and needs to be renamed to avoid further confusion.

This cultivar is a hybrid of an unnamed seedling of H. 'Dorothy Benedict' × H. hypoleuca which was registered by Dr. Ed Elslager of Michigan in 2003. This giant size plant grows to 29 inches in height with yellow-lime colored foliage. The leaves are slightly shiny and have thick substance. Near white flowers bloom in July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...'Lighthouse' is also a name sometimes used for H. 'Undulata Albomarginata'.
