An open-pollinated seedling of H. 'Neat Splash', this plant was registered by Bob Kuk of Kuk's Forest in Ohio in 1991. It forms a small size mound with a height of about 12 inches and a spread of 26 inches. The elliptic shaped leaves are smooth textured and have average substance. In late July, it bears dark purple flowers followed by viable seeds.

The Book of Little Hostas by Kathy and Michael Shadrack (2010) says: "A striking hosta that also does well in a woodland walk and in a large trough."

The New Encyclopedia of Hostas (2009) states in its Miniature Hostas chapter: "Increases reasonably rapidly. Good in a pot or a sink garden, especially if contrasted with a hosta with heart-shaped leaves of a single color. Can easily exceed its registered dimensions." (3½ inches high by 8½ inches wide).
