Hosta 'Lost at Sea'

This is one of those cases where there are two hostas with the same name. One is registered and, therefore, the "official" version of H. 'Lost at Sea' while the other is a non-registered plants and need to be renamed to avoid further confusion.

A seedling of H. 'Elvis Lives', this cultivar was registered by Hans Hansen of Minnesota in 2003. This medium size plant has blue-green foliage that turns dark green by late summer. The leaves are heavily rippled. Lavender flowers bloom from mid-August into September.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Lost at Sea' (Hansen).

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "Another plant with this name (not registered) was on display during the 1998 AHS convention. That plant had heavily corrugated, blue-green foliage with near white flowers in June.

Hosta Helper will call this plant 'Lost at Sea' (Hostapedia).
