This sport of H. 'Christmas Gold' was registered by
Mildred Seaver of Massachusetts in 1989. It is a medium size hosta about 18 inch high
by 40 inches wide with slightly cupped, moderately
corrugated foliage with thick substance. The medium lavender
flowers bloom in late June.
The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...combines nicely with
'Christmas Gold' and 'Christmas Tree' in the garden."
The New Encyclopedia of Hostas by
Grenfell (2009) states in its Hosta Hybrids for Connoisseurs chapter: "Very
slow to establish and increase...The crumpled and puckered mature leaves almost
reach a state of distortion, a feature much prized by flower arrangers."
