An H. 'August Moon' sport, this cultivar was registered by Ran Lydell of Cooks Nursery and Eagle Bay Gardens in New York in 1991. The medium size mound grows to 15 inches in height with a width of 38 inches. It bears pale lavender flowers in mid-July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "As noted for 'Lunar Magic', there does not seem to be a distinction between the two."
