Hosta 'Merci Marci'

Registered by Stuart Asch of Michigan in 2009, this small size (8 inches high by 16 inches wide) cultivar is of unidentified parentage. Its foliage is intensely blue-green with a creamy white marginal variegation. The leaves are broadly ovate, moderately cupped, slightly folded, moderately corrugated and slightly shiny on top. Medium lavender to pale purple flowers with stripes bloom from mid-July into August on scapes 12 to 16 inches tall followed by viable seeds.

According to the registration materials: "...small cupped leaves.. 25" borders, long flowering period providing nice contrast with deep blue-green leaves..."

The originator made the following comment on the Fraternal Order of Seedy Fellows website: "Named after my daughter- in- law, this small hosta with deep green centers surrounded by a thin white edge. Leaves are small, a bit folded and are also nicely corrugated. Been working on this plant for a while to stabilize it's edge."
