This seedling of H. 'Tokudama Aureonebulosa' was orignated by Carter & Holmes and registered by Chuck Plemmons of South Carolina in 1996. The medium size plant has medium gold foliage. Its leaves are slightly corrugated, slightly wavy and have thick substance. Near white flowers bloom in June.

Although the name of this cultivar was registered as "Newberry" with two r's, there is a "Newbery" gold medal that is awarded for outstanding children's books. This cultivar name, however, may refer to something totally different...just a guess.
