Hosta capitata
'Ōgon Kanzashi'

This seedling of H. capitata is a non-registered cultivar that forms a medium size plant with heart shaped gold colored foliage.

An article by W. George Schmid in The Hosta Journal  (1996 Vol. 27 No. 2) states that the "old" incorrect name for this cultivar was Hosta capitata 'Ōgon'.

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term ogon or oogon as gold or yellow.
