Hosta 'Old Gold Edge'

There is an image of this cultivar on the Hosta Library. From the photo on the HL website, it appears to be a medium size hosta with dark green leaves and yellow marginal variegation. This non-registered cultivar was originated in England and was introduced by Cynthia Tompkins of Nebraska.

According to an article on MyHosta database, this hosta has a very long history. It was purchased in England in 1924 by Cynthia Tompkins' husband (Chet's father). It was labeled "SIEBOLDIANA GLAUCANS Golden Edged" and has traits similar to the later discovered classic, H. 'Frances Williams', but smaller in size. This plant was used extensively in the hybridizing program of Cynthia Tompkins.
