Hosta 'Polar Vortex'

This upright, small size (9 inches tall by 14 inches wide) sport of H. 'The Perfect Storm' was originated by Mark Zilis of Illinois and registered by Karen Schwarz of Iowa in 2014.

The dark green foliage has a creamy white marginal variegation. Its leaves are moderately flat, nearly round and very shiny on top. The petioles are red to purple in color. Pale lavender, tubular flowers bloom from August into October. It sets seeds but the viability was not known at the time of registration. The margin changes from cream to white as the season progresses.
