Hosta 'Rosedale Big Bopper'

This hybrid of H. 'Sum and Substance' × H. 'Elegans' was registered by Jerry Hadrava of Iowa in 1999 as part of his Rosedale Series. The giant size mound grows to about 27 inches in height with a spread of 70 inches. Its green foliage is moderately corrugated, slightly rippled, unruly with thick substance. Near white flowers bloom in July.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), "...shows very little resemblance to its pod parent, which is typical of many 'Sum and Substance' seedling s. It could be easily mistaken for a green-leaved form of H. ' Elegans'."
