Hosta 'Royal Bells'

 

Registered by Jim Dishon of Michigan in 1999, this cultivar is a seedling of (H. 'Beatrice' × H. kikutii) x (H. 'August Moon' × H. kikutii). The medium size hosta grows to 16 inches in height with a spread of around 41 inches. The dark green foliage has yellow marginal variegation with leaves that are narrowly ovate, heavily rippled and slightly shiny on the bottom. Very large, dark purple flowers bloom in August on scapes up to 44 inches tall.
