Hosta 'Saizaki Hime Iwa'
 

This non-registered cultivar is a form of H. gracillima found in Japan by Kenji Watanabe. It is a small size plant with green foliage that is ovate-shaped, dull on top and has a thin tip. They bear purple, funnel shaped flowers with purple anthers in September. This cultivar sets viable seeds.
 

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term hime as small, mini, dwarf or princess and the term iwa as rock, Iwa Gibōshi or H. longipes.
