Hosta 'Shironakafu Otome'

This non-registered cultivar is a sport of H. venusta from Japan. It forms a small size plant with green foliage that has a white medial (center) variegation. The plant bears purple flowers in July.

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term otome as maiden, 'Otome Gibōshi' or H. venusta and the term shironakafu or shiro nakafu as white-center(ed).
