Hosta 'Sparta Class of '59'

 

Registered by Charles Kwick of Wisconsin in 2019, this rhizomatous, small size (8 inches high by 28 inches wide) cultivar is a seedling of H. 'Sea Gulf Stream' × H. 'Sagae'. It is a yellowish-green hosta with leaves that are slightly shiny on top, ovate, slightly wavy and slightly corrugated. Pale lavender flowers with very pale lavender stripes bloom from late July into August on scapes 14 to 18 inches tall.

The registration materials state: "...Rhizomatous habit on yellow-green plant with pale lavender flowers...slightly more green as the season progresses."
