Hosta 'Twist Tie'

Registered in 2019 by Bob Solberg of Green Hill Farm in North Carolina this cultivar is a hybrid of H. 'Tongue Twister' × (H. 'Iwa' × H. 'Blue Blush'). It is a very upright, small size hosta about 10 inches in height by 18 inches in width with medium blue-green foliage. The lanceolate shaped leaves are slightly folded, slightly wavy and intensely twisted overall. Its petioles have some purple color near the base. Pale lavender flowers bloom from September into October on scapes about 11 inches tall followed by viable seeds.

The registration materials state: "...Small open clump of blue-green very upright twisted leaves. Good substance and blooms very late."

Mikiko Lockwood in an article on The Hosta Library titled, A Little About Japanese Hosta Terms defines the term iwa as rock, Iwa Gibōshi or H. longipes.

The registration form says that this plant is "10in (25.4cm) diameter; 18in (45.7 cm) high;" but the flower scapes are listed at only "10 to 11in (25.4 to 27.9cm) high;" so we are going on the assumption that the height and width numbers have been crossed.
