Hosta 'Yellow Submarine'

Originated by Russ O'Harra of Iowa and registered on his behalf by Kevin Walek (Hosta Registrar) in 2009, this cultivar is of unidentified parentage but considered an H. sieboldii 'Subcrocea' type of hosta.

It is a fast growing, small size plant about 8 inches high by 20 inches wide. The foliage is chartreuse to gold in color, moderately rippled, lanceolate and tapered at the base. Pale purple flowers bloom in August on scapes about 12 to 18 inches tall.

The Book of Little Hostas by Kathy and Michael Shadrack (2010) says: "Grows well in a position where it gets some sunshine. It will look good in a large container, raised bed, or rockery."
