Registered by Dr. Jim and Sandy Wilkins of Michigan in 2002, this sport of H. 'Maize and Blue' forms a medium size (12 inches high by 28 inches wide) mound that has slightly rippled, slightly folded, broadly ovate leaves. Lavender flowers bloom in August on scapes up to 18 inches high.

According to The Hostapedia by Mark Zilis (2009), this cultivar "...is one of two stable sports out of 'Maize and Blue'. The other, 'Yang', has the opposite foliage color pattern. Because of its creamy-centered leaves, 'Yang' is a much slower grower than 'Yin' and difficult to establish in gardens...A most attractive border hosta. Lovely planted with amber-gold-leaved Hosta 'Cerveza'...Has reverse variegation of H. 'Yang' and is better suited to containers than in borders."
