Hosta kikutii
var. yakusimensis
aka Hime Hyuga Gibōshi
 

This variety of the species originated in Japan and was described by Dr. Fumio Maekawa in 1940. It forms a medium size, 16 inch high mound that spreads to about 40 inches in width. The leaves are lance shaped, slightly rippled and have a smooth texture. Its pale lavender flowers bloom in dense clusters in late August.
