 The
genus, Juglans, contains several species prized
for their nut production. They have large,
alternate, palmately compound leaves and a coarse
texture overall. Most have a true taproot which
makes them difficult to transplant as larger
plants. Walnut trees are generally not
considered as landscape plants. However, many of
us are stuck with them as trees that were left
from the wild when the house was built.
