Groundsel, Dusty Miller, Ragwort

This is a very large genus with around 1,250 species of annuals, herbaceous perennials, aquatic plants, vines, shrubs and small trees.  The name comes from the Latin word, senex, which means "old man" and may refer to the lack of hairs or bristles in the receptacle like a bald man.
