Eastern Cicada Killer (Sphecius speciosus). This large critter can appear a bit intimidating and it is...to a cicada. They dig shallow holes in the ground, lay their eggs and then go out to find cicadas to kill and feed to their young. Again, they generally will not bother you if you do not bother them.
