Large mound, increasing by underground suckers and makes a shrub two or three times as wide as it is tall.
Height: 8-10 feet Spread: 8-15 feet
 
Mid-July - blooms when few woody plants are in bloom - 8-10 inch pyramidal panicles bear white flowers with pinkish stamens
Leaves: opposite, palmately compound, usually 5 leaflets, 6-12 inches long.

Leaflets: 3-5 inches long, obovate to elliptic, finely toothed, apex pointed, base wedge-shaped or rounded.
