Prostrate to mounded habit
6 inches tall, spreading to 24 inches.
Rose-lilac to purple with a cylindrical calyx about half as long as petals. Flowers have 4 petals.
Early to mid spring
Mat-forming foliage, leaves spatulate to rhomboidal, narrowed to a short petiole, with 1 or more teeth on each side most leaves have a stellate pubescence. Foliage is gray-green.

Aubrieta was named in honor of Claude Aubriet, a French botanical artist.
