Alternate, simple, ovate or ovate-oblong, 2 1/2 to 6” long, 1 1/2 to 3 1/2” wide, acuminate, mostly cordate, ser­rated, often doubly, glossy dark green and glabrous above, paler beneath and hairy on veins, 10 to 13 vein pairs; petiole 1/2 to 1” long, pubescent.
Golden yellow.
 
Reddish brown bark
