Vigorous twining vine
Climbing to a height of 20 feet or more.
Plants are dioecious to polygamo-dioecious. Flowers are greenish-white, borne in 2-4 inch long terminal panicle, not showy.

Leaves are alternate, simple, oval with a tapering apex, finely serrate, 2-4 inches long, deep glossy green in color.
Fall color is yellowish-green.
 
 
Fruit is a capsule, ⅓ inch across, yellow with crimson arils and seeds, ripening in October, very showy.
 
Full sun but will tolerate light shade. Will send up suckers so care should be taken in choosing the site.
