Vivid blue with a white center, star-shaped with 6 perianth segments, ˝-1 inch in diameter, 6-10 flowers per stem.
Early spring.
Leaves are basal, ribbon-like and dark green.
 
 
 
 
The common name is a literal translation of the genus name from the Greek chion (snow) and doxa (glory).
