Loose, broad-spreading rounded shrub.
7 to 9 feet high with a spread up to 10 feet. Fast growing.
Small, dull white flowers on flat-topped cymes.
Late May
Opposite, simple, ovate to oblong-lanceolate, 2 to 5” long, 1 to 21/2” wide.
Reddish purple.
 
Bark is red to dark blood red.
White berries (drupe).
 
 
  • 'Cardinal' - Bright red stems.
  • 'Flaviramea' - Yellowtwig Red Osier Dogwood - has bright yellow twigs in the winter.
  • 'Kelseyi' - Low growing, compact shrub about 24 to 30 inches high.
  • 'Silver and Gold' - Creamy white, irregular border on the leaves.
  • 'Sunshine' - 10 to 12 feet high with pale yellow to chartreuse leaves.
