The glossy dark-green leaves are the chief attraction - leaves are pointed, 1-2 inches long
Yellow to red fall foliage
 
 
Three-eighths inch black berries ripen in September and persist through mid-winter
San Jose scale
Best used as a hedge, or in groupings
