The nodding flowers are 3-4 inches wide and
composed of 5 showy sepals. Flower colors vary
from purple to pink to cream-colored and the
sepals may be spotted on the inside.
Early spring
Dark evergreen, leathery leaves, are divided
into 7-9 segments, sharply serrated on the
margins. The leaves are often attractive
throughout the year.
